Word is updating the table of contents Interacial bisexual sex chat sites

If you apply a heading style, you're telling Word that you've started a new part of your document. When you insert the table of contents, it will create a section for each heading.I’ve even reinserted the List of Tables/Figures — all to no avail. I’ve suspected it was to do with track changes being on in the document, even though none of the captions or the paragraphs surrounding them were the subject of tracked changes. And I also suspected that something was happening with the field updating that can get messed up when track changes are on (see https://cybertext.wordpress.com/2009/10/16/word-macro-to-fix-track-changescross-references-issues/ for how to fix that).

Depending on the project, it might be dozens or even hundreds of pages long!

If you've already read our Styles lesson, you know they're an easy way to add professional text formatting to different parts of your document.

Styles also serve another important purpose: adding a hidden layer of organization and structure to your document.

Want to add a table of contents to your Word document, one that can be easily updated if you change your doc? All you have to do is format your Word document appropriately. Format your document using heading styles found on the Home tab, e.g., Heading 1, Heading 2, and so on.

Word will create your table of contents based on these headings, so do this for all of the text you want to show up in the table of contents. Place the cursor where you want the table of contents to appear (usually, the beginning of the document) 3.
